Hi, My name is Maraya Steadman. I live in the Chicago suburbs with my husband, our three kids, the world’s largest dog and the cat. I once worked in an office downtown but I’ve been at home with my children for almost ten years now, except I’m never home. I seem to spend a lot of time driving around in a minivan filled with kids, backpacks, hockey gear, soccer balls, lost ballet slippers, last week’s fast food dinner, two cans of diet coke, a travel mug of cold coffee and the ubiquitous pair of dirty socks.

Before motherhood? I was a tax accountant. Yup, I was. Now my diplomas hang in the laundry room as I try to parent my way through the days, trying to keep everyone alive and off to school on time while feeding the dog a diet of stuffed animals and barbies in an attempt to keep him from eating the rest of the front room furniture. Mostly what I’m about is life, real life. The joy found in the ordinary, simple, raw, slobbery, loud, brilliant, messiness of life. I love to laugh out loud at all of it and everything, every day.

Thanks for checking out my website and for reading me, it’s nice to meet you.

Maraya
